Our physical therapists are licensed health professionals. They work with our skilled nurses, under orders set by the physician, to help you restore lost strength, mobility, coordination and balance. As you would expect, exercise is the cornerstone of physical therapy. Our therapists will develop a plan of care that incorporates a variety of rehabilitative approaches and equipment to build muscle mass, improve bone density, and increase your stamina, allowing you to work harder and longer over time.
Our occupational therapists are licensed health professionals. They work with our skilled nurses, under orders set by the physician, to restore or maintain your ability to manage the activities of daily living such as eating, bathing, dressing, and cleaning. We will create an individualized course of therapy based on close observation of your strength, coordination, and range of motion and set goals to achieve your maximum potential and safe return home.
Our speech therapists are licensed healthcare professionals. They work with our skilled nurses, under orders set by the physician, to restore the lost ability to speak and/or eat. Many of our patients have had strokes or surgery for cancer in the jaw or neck. They may have to relearn to swallow or retrain the mouth, lips and tongue to cooperate for clear speech.
We want our patients to continue their experience with our rehabilitation when they return home. We offer outpatient rehabilitation services that allows patients to return to our facilities to receive a continuity of rehabilitation with the therapists and programming that our facilities provided during their stay. The goal of this service is to continue recuperation and have long term results. Outpatient rehabilitation services are also offered to those who need rehabilitation in the community but do not need to be an inpatient at our facilities.
Transitional rooms are an extension of our therapy programs that help patients transition back to their homes. These are set up as a small apartment with a bed, dining room, and kitchen appliances for patients to practice activities for daily living tasks in a home-like environment.
